The golf season has advanced to regionals as the Mid-Prairie girls’ golf team heads to Mediapolis for their regional tournament. Teams participating in the event are Albia, Davis County, Louisa-Muscatine, Burlington Notre Dame, Williamsburg and Mediapolis.

Mid-Prairie comes into regionals in the middle of the pack among teams. Mid-Prairie averages 224.5 strokes per nine holes which is fifth among the seven teams participating. Junior Allison Wertz comes in leading all teams participating in the meet with a nine hole average of 44.33 strokes.

Leading the way as a team is Williamsburg with a nine hole team average of 192.6 better than any other competitor by almost 23 strokes.

Sectionals will begin today at Mediapolis.
