With the golf season dwindling down the Mid-Prairie girls’ golf team has just one meet left before sectionals as they travel to Muscatine for the River Valley Conference Meet. Eleven teams will be involved in the tournament today including Bellevue, Durant, North Cedar, Iowa City Regina, Tipton, West Branch, West Liberty, Wilton and West Liberty.

Mid-Prairie has been led all spring by junior Allyson Wertz. She comes into the meet second in the conference averaging 44.33 strokes per nine holes. Mid-Prairie is towards the bottom of the conference in total strokes as a team with a 224.5 stroke nine-hole average and 452 stroke 18-hole average.

Monticello is currently the top team in the conference. The Panthers average 190.29 strokes per nine holes and 386.50 per 18 holes. Monticello also has the top golfer in the conference in junior Darby Kramer. She averages 42.43 strokes per nine holes and 87 strokes per 18 holes.

The meet will begin today at 9 a.m. at the Muscatine Municipal Golf Course.
