The rain went away quick enough for the River Valley Conference Track to continue as scheduled with Mid-Prairie competing against 11 other teams for a final tune up before districts next week.

The girls finished in seventh place with 48 points. Mid-Prairie’s 4×100 relay team achieved first place with a personal best time of 51.3 seconds. Athletes that ran in the event were Lexi Duwa, Emily Cayton, Ali Butters and Alex Rath. Anna Hostetler took silver in the 1500 meter run with a time of 5:05:62 and bronze in the 3000 with a run of 11:02.06.

The boys took 10th place overall with 30 points. Levi Duwa took first place in the shot put with a personal best throw of 53 feet and 3 inches. Duwa also finished in second place in the discus with a throw of 142 feet and 10 inches. The next best finisher for the Golden Hawks was Jared Draper setting a new personal best in the 3000 meter run at a time of 10:17.99 to finish in fifth place.

The Golden Hawks will compete for a spot at the state track meet next week at the district meet at Tipton on Thursday, the top two finishes will advance to Des Moines.
