Over an inch of rain fell in Washington Monday evening and into the early morning hours of Tuesday. According to AccuWeather, 1.45 inches of precipitation was recorded Monday. More rain is expected throughout the day, with a chance of thunderstorms the rest of the week.
As of 6 a.m., the Iowa River levels at Lone Tree had gained 2.83 feet in the last 24 hours, putting the river at 10.57 feet, while flood stage for the area is 15 feet.
