Plans are still being developed for Washington County’s new public health building. At yesterday’s Board of Health meeting, director of Washington County Public Health, Danielle Pettit-Majewski explained they are now looking to have a referendum in November, to provide more time to explain the project to the public and in hopes of increased voter turnout during the general election.

Preliminary drawings were completed in April by the architect, to which Pettit-Majewski stated she believes will improve efficiency. The Board of Health decided to construct a new building on 2.54 acres owned by the county near the Orchard Hill complex, west of the Kirkwood Washington Regional Center.
