The first ever Summer Classic in downtown Washington starts next week. The four-day event will be reminiscent of last year’s 175th celebration with themed days. Michelle Redlinger, director of the Washington Chamber of Commerce, explains the days of the Summer Classic: Thursday is Ag Day with the Farmers Market and a tractor parade; Friday is Family Heritage Day; Saturday is Ridiculous Day which will then transition into Tribute Night with concerts at the airport; and Friday is American Classic with church in Central Park followed by Latino Night.

The tractor parade route, which starts at the Extension Office and then goes by the city’s retirement communities, was approved by the Washington City Council at their meeting last week.
