The 60th year of summer reading in Washington begins Monday. Residents are encouraged now to sign up for the Washington Public Library’s summer reading program and special events. Librarian Jo Weidner shares this year’s theme is “Every Hero Has a Story.” Many of the children’s programs revolve around superheroes. There are also guest speakers throughout the summer speaking about heroes, such as veterans.

This week a Marvel illustrator will be visiting the library and holding a workshop, space is limited and preregistration is requested.
