Less than a month away from postseason play, the Washington Demon boys’ golf team has another opportunity to play a round of golf on their district course. The Demons are set to play a non-conference triangular this afternoon with South Tama and Clear Creek Amana at the Amana Colonies Golf Course.

Should the Demons advance past the sectional round on May 15, their district tournament would be held at the Amana Colonies Golf Course. This will be the first time this spring the Demons have seen either South Tama or Clear Creek Amana on the golf course. The Clippers are one of the eight teams in the Demons’ sectional pairings.

Washington looks to bounce back from a mediocre performance on Tuesday afternoon in Oskaloosa. The Demons finished the Edmunson Golf Course in 347 strokes, the seventh best performance of the 14 team field. It marked the first time this spring that Washington hasn’t finished an event in first place.

Washington was without all-conference golfer Derek Anding. Sophomore Mason Rich recorded the lowest score for the Demons Tuesday, shooting an 81 and finishing in a tie for 18th place.

Today’s non-conference triangular tees off at 4 p.m. from the Amana Colonies Golf Course.
