With five members present, the Washington City Council approved an amendment to the 2015 budget at last night’s meeting with a 5-0 vote. The city had $1.9 million more than expected in revenue during the year, making the total revenue over $19 million. On the other hand, Washington also had about $2.1 million more in expenditures than anticipated.

The net effect, or difference, is a need for $190,981. Part of the need for the amendment was due to underbudgeted utilities, telecommunications and library repairs, as well as carry over of several capital projects.
