Several KCII area baseball teams were informed of their district groupings this week. The Iowa High School Athletic Association released 2015 postseason assignments for Class 1A and 2A teams on Wednesday.

The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk baseball team (6-6 overall) has been assigned to Class 2A’s District 10, joining River Valley Conference foes Iowa City Regina Regals (8-8), the West Branch Bears (4-8), and Southeast Iowa Super Conference members the Central Lee Hawks (1-4), Columbus (0-10), and West Burlington (11-3).

Several area schools are grouped together in districts in Class 1A. The Iowa Mennonite School (3-7), the Highland Huskies (8-4), the Lone Tree Lions (9-5), and the Sigourney Savages (5-9) have been combined in the District 9 bracket with English Valley Bears (7-2), the Pekin Panthers (7-1 overall), and the Tri-County Thornberg Trojans (1-11).

The WACO Warriors (1-12) and the Winfield-Mount Union Wolves (7-5) are associated with the District 10 field, including the Cardinal Comets (7-5), the Danville Bears (5-6), the Harmony Rockets (3-4), the Notre Dame Nikes (6-3), and the Van Buren Warriors (13-0).

First round games will be announced at a later date.
