The body of a man pulled from the Iowa River last week will be further examined to determine what caused his death. The Johnson County Deputy Medical Examiner has identified the deceased as 41-year-old Shawn L. Warrington. The homeless individual last lived in the Iowa City area and has past addresses in Davenport and Galesburg, Illinois. Warrington’s body was found by the sheriff’s office and Hills Fire Department last Wednesday following a search prompted by campers fishing north of the Hills Access who reported seeing a pair of pants and boots in a brush pile. Foul play is not suspected at this time, but the sheriff’s office is continuing its investigation into the death.
