An early week road trip awaits the Washington Demon baseball and softball teams today. The Demons resume Southeast Conference play in Fairfield tonight against the ranked Trojans.

The Washington baseball team (5-8) ended a six-game losing streak Thursday night at Dick Sojka Memorial Field, sweeping a pair of Southeast Conference clashes against the Fort Madison Bloodhounds (0-15) 14-1 in five innings and 2-1. Four of Washington’s five victories this season have come against Fort Madison, outscoring the Bloodhounds 41-5. The Demons dropped a pair of games to the No. 9 Trojans, 5-4 and 16-4, on June 4 in Washington.

The Demon softball team (2-15) is still in search of their first Southeast Conference victory of the season, battling the No. 14 Trojans (13-5). Washington suffered a doubleheader setback Thursday evening against the Fort Madison Bloodhounds, falling 14-0 and 13-1. Washington has dropped their first eight conference games of the season, including dropping two games to the Trojans, 9-2 and 5-3 on June 4 in Washington.
