Normally, the Washington Demon baseball team would have seen every Southeast Conference foe at least once by this time in the season. Wet weather forced the postponement of the Demons’ first pair of games against the Keokuk Chiefs at Joyce Park in Keokuk on two separate occasions.

The teams will make a third attempt at their initial meeting tonight, this time at Dick Sojka Memorial Field in Washington.

The Demons have completed their season series with the Fort Madison Bloodhounds and Fairfield Trojans. Four of Washington’s five wins on the season have come against the Bloodhounds, outscoring Fort Madison 41-5 in the series. The Demons lost all four meetings with the Trojans, being outscored 29 to 10. Washington also dropped their first two meetings versus the Mount Pleasant Panthers, 6-4 and 7-2, on June 12.

The new makeup date for the conference games between Washington and Keokuk at Joyce Park is July 8.

First pitch of tonight’s Southeast Conference doubleheader is set for 5:30 p.m. Live play-by-play coverage from Dick Sojka Memorial Field begins with the Washington Hy-Vee Pregame Show at 5 p.m. on FM 106.1 and KCIIRadio.com.
