Nearly four inches of rain fell from 6 a.m. Wednesday to 6 a.m. this morning. In Washington, 3.76 inches of precipitation was recorded, with 2.62 inches of that falling after 9 p.m. Wednesday. More rain is expected tomorrow.

Due to the heavy rainfall across the state, many area river levels have increased. The English River at Kalona is flooding after rising almost 9 feet since Wednesday. It is slightly above 15 feet, while flood stage is 14 feet. The Iowa River also rose at Lone Tree, Columbus Junction, Wapello and Oakville. The North Skunk River rose over 6.5 feet near Sigourney to about 1.5 feet below flood stage.
