Thursday morning a two-vehicle accident was reported seven miles north of Keswick. According to the Iowa County Sheriff’s Office, at 9:18 a.m. the wreck was reported at the intersection of D Avenue and 325th Street. A 2014 Ford Escape driven by Patricia Ann Grover, 64, of Sigourney was traveling northbound on D Avenue and her husband, Thomas Patrick Grover, was riding in the front passenger seat. A Peterbilt straight truck/tank hauler driven by Steven Richard Raymie, 56, of Winterset was westbound on 325th Street and failed to stop at the intersection. The Peterbilt struck the passenger side of the Ford, sending it into the northwest ditch.

Patricia Grover was transported by ground ambulance and Thomas Grover was taken by Air Care helicopter, both to the University of Iowa Hospitals. Thomas Grover died of his injuries. Patricia Grover was treated for non-life threatening injuries. Raymie did not request medical attention. All of those involved were wearing seatbelts.

The accident remains under investigation. Keokuk County Sheriff’s Office, Keswick Fire and Rescue, North English Fire and Rescue, the Iowa County Ambulance Service, North English QRS and Millersburg QRS also responded to the scene.
