Southeast Iowa Super Conference baseball and softball teams will be duking it out tonight as Iowa Mennonite School hosts the Lone Tree Lions.

The IMS baseball team (2-4) is coming off their first wins of the season sweeping the Columbus Wildcats (0-8) Tuesday. IMS junior Tobyn Bender comes in with the team’s highest batting average at .364.

The Lone Tree Lions come in winning their last three ball games out scoring their opponents 33-8. Lions sophomore Dawson Swailes comes in with two home runs and ten runs batted in.

The IMS softball team (0-7) is looking for their first win of the season. Lone Tree (3-9) has lost their last four games, getting outscored 34-12. IMS freshman Avery Blauvelt leads the team in slugging percentage at .500.

Lone Tree senior Makenzie Reynolds is one of three Lions’s batters with at least 11 hits in the season. The leading pitcher for the Lions is junior Morgan Edwards with 38 strike outs and an earned run average of 3.58.
