The Iowa Mennonite School baseball and softball  team hosted a doubleheader in Southeast Iowa Super Conference match ups against the Columbus Wildcats.The IMS baseball team would get their first wins of the season sweeping the Wildcats, 18-5 and 17-3. The IMS softball team lost their two games, 14-1 and 18-6.

In the first game, the IMS baseball team’s Peyton Miller had two runs batted in to lead the team, IMS had 17 hits in the game.

In the second game, IMS scored four runs in the first inning, five runs in the second inning, and eight runs in the third. IMS had 12 hits in the win.

In the first softball game, the Wildcats had two big innings scoring five runs in the second and seven in the fifth. IMS’s lone run came in the third inning.

In the second game, both teams caught fire in the first inning with IMS scoring six runs and the Wildcats scoring seven. However the Wildcats would score 10 more runs in the second and one run in the third to win the  game. Kelsey Pretz won both games pitching for the Wildcats, making it seven wins for her so far this season.

The IMS softball team is now 0-7 is they host a doubleheader against Lone Tree (3-8) tomorrow.
