Looking for their first win of the year the Iowa Mennonite School baseball team (0-3) hosted the Highland Huskies (3-3) last night. IMS would not prevail losing, 18-4.

The game was close in the first two innings with IMS just down by two runs, 4-2. In the third, Highland is offense kicked it up a notch and scored four runs to make the score 8-2. In the fourth, the Huskies added another run with IMS answering back with two runs to make the score 9-4. The game broke through when Highland scored nine more runs in the fifth inning to finish off IMS.

IMS’s senior Kirby Shetler pitched two and two-third innings for IMS, striking out three batters.

IMS only gave up seven hits, but walked 13 batters in the game. IMS had five hits with 20 at bats in the loss.

IMS falls to 0-3 and will travel to Mediapolis (3-3) to take on the Bulldogs on Monday.

Highland moves to 3-3 and will host the WACO Warriors (0-6) on Monday.
