A discussion regarding a community center planning contract with Martin Gardner Architecture is on the Kalona City Council’s agenda for this evening. The community center was last brought up in late April, when making improvements to the 100-year-old building was discussed.

This came after it was announced that the city and Mid-Prairie School District were not moving forward with a shared facility for the time being. City Administrator Ryan Schlabaugh told KCII News that timing and issues such as ownership posed bigger challenges than initially thought.

Tonight’s meeting begins at 7 p.m.
