The Kalona Chamber’s annual celebration had a great turnout. Ron and Helen Slechta served as grand marshals for this year’s Kalona Days, which was held Saturday.

Ron says the parade was well attended, as were the activities that followed, including Mike Zahs’ presentation at the library where the historian screened films from the historic Brinton collection that were shown in Kalona a century ago.

As grand marshals, Ron and Helen rode in the parade in a convertible provided by Kalona Auto. Ron says they were able to get the family involved. Their daughter, Beryl Marner, drove and their granddaughters Emily and Eva got to ride along.
