What a two day stretch it has been for Mid-Prairie junior softball player Amber Kral. Kral and the No.8 Golden Hawks (13-7 overall) played an unusual River Valley Conference doubleheader Thursday, starting the day hosting a make up game versus the Bellevue Comets (5-11 overall) in Wellman, and ending  in Stanwood in a league battle against the North Cedar Knights (2-12 overall).

Mid-Prairie powered their way to 21 runs total yesterday, eight runs being driven in by Kral, as the Golden Hawks earned a pair of victories 11-6 over the Comets and 10-6 over the Knights. Collectively, the Golden Hawks’ third baseman went five for eight at the plate, sending two home runs over the fence and scoring four runs in the wins. In the last two days, Kral has homered three times, driving in 11 runs, and has scored five more during Mid-Prairie’s current three-game winning streak.

The Golden Hawks’ record has improved to 13-7 overall, and will return to the field tonight in Wellman for a River Valley Conference doubleheader against the Wilton Beavers (9-9 overall). Live play-by-play coverage begins with the Washington Hy-Vee Pregame show at 5:20 p.m. on AM 1380, FM 102.5, and KCIIRadio.com.
