A musical comedy set in the 1970s will open its run at the Washington Community Center this evening. The show, 70, Girls, 70 is being performed by Washington Community Theater. Cast member Nancy Salemink, portraying the ringleader Ida, shares the show is about a group of people who live in a retirement hotel which is going to be sold and they come up with a way to buy the building by going beyond the law.

Fellow castmember Regina Schantz, who will be Eunice tonight, shares the music is fun and similar to vaudeville.They add the show is appropriate for all ages and there are some slang terms from the decade that may be new to younger audiences.

Jean Macenski, who will be on the stage as Gert, encourages people to get tickets in advance either at WCTheater.com or by calling the box office.
