The Mid-Prairie baseball and softball teams will be hosting non-conference games tonight as they take on the Monticello Panthers.

The Mid-Prairie baseball team is currently 2-4 coming heading into tonight’s match. The Golden Hawks lost their last game against the Northeast Gooselake Rebels (4-2) on Tuesday, 10-2. In their four losses they have scored two or less runs. In their two wins they have had at least 11 runs scored. The Panthers have won their last four games with a combined score of 51-7.

The No. 6 ranked Mid-Prairie softball team (5-1) is coming off their first loss of the season against Northeast Gooselake (8-0) Tuesday night, losing 11-10 in extra innings after winning their first five games. Senior Taylor Kurtz already has two home runs on the season. Junior’s Ali Naylor and Alex Rath are leading the team in batting average at .533.

Both games will begin at 7 p.m. tonight in Wellman.
