Residents in the Washington Community School District have until June 19th to pre-register for the special election held on June 30th. Sue Meeks, elections administrator for the county, announced the worry-free postmark deadline for registration is June 15th.

Voters can register in person on election day by providing proof of identity and residence, which can be shown with a utility bill and driver’s license for example. The auditor’s office is open from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. week days for in person early voting.

The election is being held to approve $2.3 million in general obligation bonds to help fund the construction of a preschool wing at Stewart Elementary School.
