Residents in the Washington Community School District have until 8 p.m. Tuesday to vote in a special election. The election is to approve $2.3 million in bonds to add a preschool wing to Stewart Elementary School, redo the drop off location and demolish the Stewart West satellite building. Voters can vote early in the auditor’s office, or between noon and 8 p.m. Tuesday in Brighton or at the Washington County Courthouse.

In April of 2014, voters approved a $1.1 million bond for the new auditorium project with 69% of the vote. In that special election, over 1,200 people turned out to vote. As of Thursday, only 165 people had voted early.
