In their first game since being anointed the top team in Class 2A, the Highland Huskies (13-2 overall) continued their stellar mid season play. The Huskies welcomed the Iowa Mennonite School (1-13) to Highland High School for a single Southeast Iowa Super Conference North tilt.

Highland strung together 10 hits, including a two-hit game from Bailey Walsh, Kelsey Hora, and Cheyann Adamson, propelling the Huskies to a 9-1 victory over IMS. Senior Katie Springer allowed a single run on three hits, walking one, and striking out eight batters. She has collected 90 total strikeouts this season, second most in the conference.

The victory improves Highland to 13-2 overall, and extends their winning streak to eight games. IMS falls to 1-13 overall.

The Huskies return to the field tonight at home versus the Wapello Indians (15-4 overall). IMS is scheduled to play an afternoon game against the Pekin Panthers (5-11 overall) in Kalona.
