The future birthplace of Captain Kirk is hosting the 31st annual Trek Fest Friday and Saturday. Ken McCracken is the current president of the group that organizes Trek Fest, the Riverside Area Community Club. According to McCracken, the annual event doesn’t just attract local Trekkies or Trekkers. He says Star Trek fans from places all over the world, including Australia, England and South America, have made it to Trek Fest. The festival begins at 5 p.m. Friday in Hall Park and ends with a fireworks display Saturday night.
