Following the weekend’s rain area river levels rose. Flash flood watches were issued for Washington, Keokuk, Iowa and Johnson counties, as well as others. As of 11 a.m. Monday, the English River at Kalona rose 4.1 feet, raising water levels to about two feet below flood stage. At Lone Tree, the Iowa River rose three-quarters of a foot since Sunday, and water levels remain about 2.5 feet below flood stage.

The Iowa River has started to fall at Columbus Junction and Wapello. The North Skunk River near Sigourney has dropped 5.6 feet since Sunday.
