Tomorrow night the Washington City Council will hold the third and final reading of an ordinance allowing alcohol in Central Park. The ordinance would allow the council to permit alcohol for special events.

Also, the second hearing to increase utility rates in the city will be held. The proposed rates increase water by 10 percent, sewer by five percent and solid waste by 3.5 percent. City Administrator Brent Hinson explained that the base rates didn’t change.

Tomorrow the council will also consider the purchase of a new police vehicle and work for a water main in the new business park. The meeting begins at 6 p.m. in council chambers.
