Amidst an early season losing streak, the Washington Demon softball team (1-7 overall; 0-4 Southeast) returns to Southeast Conference play in Keokuk tonight. The Demons are set to travel south for a set of league battles versus the No. 14 ranked Chiefs (5-1 overall; 1-1 Southeast).

Washington enters tonight game on a seven game losing streak, including three losses to state ranked teams. Since scoring 15 runs to open the season against Columbus, Washington has been held to 11 total runs during their current slide. Freshman Morgan Brinning has scored a team leading six runs, while senior Kolbi Breard leads the Demons with six runs batted in this season.

Keokuk is off to strong start, winning five of their first six games of the season. Their lone loss came to the Mount Pleasant Panthers 10-2 in a Southeast Conference showdown on June 1.

Keokuk won three of the four games between the teams last season, outscoring Washington 11-8.
