Residents of Washington County are asked to fill out a community health needs survey. Washington County Public Health is currently working on the next Community Health Needs Assessment, a project conducted every five years to determine the needs of the county. Danielle Pettit-Majewski, director of the department, explains the survey asks a variety of questions from access to healthy food to transportation availability to dental and mental health care. She adds it is anonymous and takes about five to 10 minutes to complete.

Lynn Fisher with Washington County Public Health adds they learned from the last survey that people in the community were having difficulty affording food and diapers.
