Voters have until 8 p.m. tonight to cast ballots either in support or not for $2.3 million in bonds for a new preschool wing at Stewart Elementary School. The special election is for residents in the Washington Community School District. Jolisa Weidner explains the project would improve safety and help students transition in kindergarten because they’d already be used to the building. Stewart West would be demolished and a new pick up and drop off spot would be part of the project if approved. Weidner asks that voters be informed before going to the polls.

Debbie Stanton adds that it is focused on safety. She adds they will be moving the existing equipment to the new classrooms.
