A change is coming to Iowa’s public libraries’ digital resources later this month. Debbie Stanton, director of the Washington Public Library, explains the state has renewed a contract and everyone will now be able to access Bridges. In the past, the state has been split into two programs, one being Wilbur which was available in Washington. Stanton adds this will allow more access to more materials and it will be the same service with a new interface, so patrons can keep downloading materials the same way.

Stanton says they’ve seen the number of digital resources used by patrons continue to increase over the past few years. In addition, library staff will assist patrons with their e-reading devices if they have technical questions, she asks that people simply bring the device with them to the library for any assistance.
