A Columbus Community High School graduate is now also a graduate of basic military training.Army National Guard Private Jeannette M. Guillen received here training at Fort Jackson in Columbia, South Carolina. Over the course of nine weeks, Guillen studied the Army’s mission, history, tradition and core values. She also received instruction and practiced in basic combat skills, military weapons, chemical warfare and bayonet training, marksmanship, first aid as well as armed and unarmed combat. The 2014 Columbus graduate is the daughter of Jessica and Martin Zarate of Conesville.
