The postseason run for the Washington Demon baseball team (6-20 overall) came to an end last night.As heard on FM 106.1 and KCIIRadio.com, the Demons traveled to Williamsburg for a Class 3A District 9 semifinal clash against the Williamsburg Raiders (26-11). Williamsburg scored eight unanswered runs, downing the Demons 8-1.

Washington jumped out to an early lead, scoring their lone run on an RBI double by junior Tanner Renoux in the top of the first inning. The score held intact until the bottom of the third inning. Williamsburg sent 10 batters to the plate in the third, scoring six runs in the frame for a five run advantage. Two more insurance runs in fourth inning pushed the lead to 8-1. The final two half innings went scoreless, ending the game with an 8-1 final score.

The Demons scattered three hits in the game, two produced by Renoux. Washington has scored three of fewere runs in ten of their final 13 games of the season, going 1-12 during that span.

The Demons’ 2015 baseball season comes to a close at 6-20 overall.
