The Washington Demon softball team (4-25 overall) has two more chances to earn their first Southeast Conference victory. The Demons are scheduled to travel to Mount Pleasant tonight, renewing their rivalry with the Panthers (15-13 overall).

Washington is winless in 14 league games so far this season. Offense has been hard to come by for the Demons against conference competition, averaging 1.6 runs per game. The Demons have already dropped doubleheaders against Keokuk and Fairfield this week, being outscored 19-1 versus the Chiefs and 8-4 against the Trojans.

Mount Pleasant continues to hover around .500, winning no more than four games in a row this season and losing no more than three consecutive games. Freshman Jackie Fraise enters tonight’s game posting the best batting average in the conference at .475.

First pitch of tonight’s Southeast Conference doubleheader begins at 5:30 p.m. at Mapleleaf Athletic Complex in Mount Pleasant.
