Over 1,000 people turned out to vote in the special election for the Washington Community School District. The measure approved with 69% of ballots cast in support, 60% was needed to pass it. In the Washington precinct, 607 of the registered 5,793 voters turned out to polls, or 10.48%. In the Brighton precinct just over 8% of the registered voters cast ballots, or 79 of the registered 982. There were 354 people who voted absentee or early.

In total, 15.35% of the registered voters in the two precincts voted in this special election.
