Trace amounts of precipitation fell over the weekend in the area and there is a chance for rain this evening. So far this month over six inches of rain has fallen in Washington. According to the National Weather Service, 6.19 inches of precipitation has been observed, above the normal 3.76 inches.

The record rainfall for the first 26 days of July was set in 1993 at nearly 11 inches of precipitation. In 1894, no precipitation was recorded during the same time period, the record low.
