The City of Kalona has received its 2014 Water Quality Report. The document is based on the annual testing of the city’s water that the Iowa Department of Natural Resources compiles. According to city administrator Ryan Schlabaugh, lead and iron were among the contaminants targeted in the testing, and they were well within the allowable thresholds. He adds the form allows the council to see if the system is working and being managed properly, so the necessary action can be taken if there is a problem.
