For the Mid-Prairie (11-10) baseball team it’s been a very streaky season. While the Golden Hawks have had their share of winning streaks, including one of six games, they also have had losing streaks of three games on two separate occasions. Their latest winning streak of the season stretched to three games last night when the Mid-Prairie squad won the first of a pair against Wapello by a 13-11 score, before that streak ended in the nightcap when Wapello took the second game 6-1.
They have two players hitting over .400 for the season; senior Jackson Yoder leads the team with a .455 average, while sophomore Derek Rich is hitting .422 on the season. Meanwhile the Golden Hawk hurlers are lead by junior Adam Schrock, who has a 3-1 record, sporting an ERA of just 2.53. Opponent batters are hitting just .221 against Schrock.
Next up for Mid-Prairie is a trip tomorrow night to Camanche (11-12).
