Duncan McCain wrestled in a national competition, last week, in Fargo, North Dakota in the freestyle category. The Golden Hawk junior, who wrestled in the 113 pound weight class, lost his first match to a wrestler from Wisconsin, which put him in the consolation bracket. McCain was more successful in his remaining matches.

McCain received a bye in his first consolation bracket match, before winning over an Indiana wrestler by a technical fall. The Mid-Prairie junior then won over a New York wrestler, when his opponent was injured during the match. McCain was eliminated in his next match, when he lost by a technical fall to a wrestler from Ohio.

McCain, a state qualifier last year for Coach Justin Garvey’s wrestling team, will return this year to wrestle again for the Golden Hawks.
