New London is advancing in the state softball tournament. The team defeated the Sigourney Savages last night in the Class 1A Region 5 championship game in Ottumwa by 2 to 1. New London won with a walk off home run in the bottom of the seventh inning to advance to the state tournament. New London will play in the first round at Buena Vista University Field in Fort Dodge next week.
