Nutrition and food systems, access to mental health care, and increasing physical activity will be health priorities for the local public health office in the next three to five years. The three focuses were the result of the Community Health Needs Assessment. The assessment is done every five years to establish the needs in the county. The final meeting of this year’s assessment was held Monday afternoon. Representatives from area health agencies, local government and providers took part in the process. Also, 222 surveys were completed by citizens in Washington County, answering questions from transportation to access to care.
