Martin O’Malley, former mayor of Baltimore and governor of Maryland, is seeking the Democratic nomination for president and met with Iowans in downtown Washington yesterday. O’Malley introduced himself and spoke of his eight years on city council, eight years as mayor and eight years as governor. He spoke of his experience leading the state, during his tenure they approved same sex marriage, repealed the death penalty and increased funding for education. Looking forward, he said he wants to make college affordable for every student, approve immigration reform and look at advancing the country’s energy infrastructure.
