A second place finish in the Southeast Iowa Super Conference North standings for the Pekin Panthers’ baseball team (18-8) left an impression on the rest of the league. Panther senior Cole Reighard and junior Keaton Winn were named first team all-conference athletes by the coaches of the SEISC North.

Reighard was voted to the team as a catcher. Reighard ended the season second on the team in total hits (25), in batting average (.333), and slugging percentage (.480).

Winn made the squad as a pitcher. His 0.65 earned run average was tops in the conference, and his 85 strikes outs were the second most in the league. Offensively, Winn led the Panthers in runs scored (28), walks forced (16), and tied for the lead in home runs (3).

Junior Ryan Swanson and sophomore Garrett Greiner were named to the all-conference second team. Swanson made the crew as an infielder, while Greiner was selected to the team as an outfielder.

Juniors Joel Swanson and Drew Wells were all-conference honorable mentions.

Pekin ended the 2015 baseball 18-8 overall, and finished second in the SEISC North standings with a 14-4 record. Pekin lost to the Lone Tree Lions in the district championship, 3-1, on July 18.
