An annual golf tournament in memory of a former Washington teacher is set for later this month. The Curt Jensen Memorial Golf Tournament has taken place the second Saturday in the month of July since the tournament was founded in 2007.

Marsha Jensen, Curt’s wife, says the idea for the golf tournament got started when she decided in lieu of flowers, to start a scholarship for a Washington High School student in her husband’s honor, “Curt spent his entire life educating kids and the things he loved in life, his most being his family, his students, and the game of golf,” Jensen said, “So a golf tournament to support his scholarship fund in order to help a student go to college couldn’t be more appropriate to keep his memory alive.”

The 9th annual Curt Jensen Memorial Golf Tournament is scheduled for Saturday, July 11 at the Washington Golf and Country Club. Registration for the tournament is $35 for non members and $ 25 for members and a lunch is included with the entry fee.
