The public has a chance to learn about the history of Richmond today. The small Washington County community is turning 175 years old this year, and residents are celebrating with a day long festival that will feature a parade, live music, food and bingo, as well as a beanbag and horseshoe tournament.

According to Tom Duwa, member of the organizing committee, locals are holding a presentation at 2 p.m. that will give an in-depth look at Richmond’s history. There will also be a tent set up filled with Richmond artifacts.

Duwa adds at dusk, memorial luminaries will be lit in memory of loved ones.
