Rotation was reported as a thunderstorm made its way through southeast Iowa tonight. A severe thunderstorm warning was issued at approximately 6:45 and ended an hour later. During KCII’s Severe Weather Action Team coverage, towns from Sigourney to Kalona saw heavy downpours and lightning. According to Washington and Keokuk County Emergency Management Coordinator Larry Smith, a weather spotter reported seeing mild rotation north of Richland and the weather service reported seeing on and off rotation on the radar. He says the conditions were on the verge of creating issues for the area.
