The regular season came to a close for the Washington Demon baseball team Tuesday evening in Washington. The Demons ended the regular season portion of the schedule at Dick Sojka Memorial Field versus the Solon Spartans (22-15 overall). Washington pitchers walked 11 Solon batters as the Spartans handed the Demons a 10-3 loss.

Washington fell behind 10 to 0 in the first five innings, highlighted by a five run fifth inning by the Trojans. Junior Michael Ellingson led the bottom of the fifth off with a double and came around to score on a sacrifice fly by sophomore Ryan Loy, making the score 10-1. The final two runs of the game were scored in the bottom of the sixth inning by Tanner Renoux and Bryce Craff, cutting the lead to 10-3. Washington outhit Solon 8 to 4 in the game.

The loss ends Washington’s regular season at 6-18.
