Over an inch of rain fell in Washington Tuesday. Following yesterday’s severe thunderstorm, several small trees and branches were reportedly down in streets in Brighton and local authorities estimated wind speeds reached 60 miles per hour. Shortly before midnight a tree caught fire in rural West Chester due to a lightning strike. The fire was extinguished by Wellman Fire Department.

More rain is expected Saturday evening, listen to KCII for weather updates.
